Very innovative map!

It seems that red have only one route up - the front plaza (I could be wrong). With blue spawning down on the street it is difficult for red to cap - the road and stairs are blue's territory. So you grab the flag jump down and then you are either in the middle of blue players or you have to slog it from the overpass round to the front and the same problem. Also pool diving is an invitation to be gunned-down. The arches (with boost) are great, easily the best way down.

Thanks bengodi

I love the arches. I test-played the hell outta those when I made em cause I was having so much fun!

The map is far from balanced. It really has a long way to go. In the beta 3 version, there's a new jump-fly path from tower 2 (hotel) roof that goes directly to tower 1's top. Great for jumping over tall buildings, or in this case immediately on landing on tower 1 roof continuing your jump momentum to strafe-jump through the blue flag and right off the other edge of the building onto the back towers that don't exist yet. Adrenalin rush!

I like that in ut_superman it's hard to snipe such long vertical distances. The urt physics don't allow for very accurate sniping from the ground to the top of tower 1 (or back down). Combined speed of falling/jump-flying, lag, and player skill, will make it quite interesting to pull off mid-air kills, but so rewarding for doing it.

And hey, the longer it takes to get superman out of beta, the better video cards are going to get right? lol!

I'd have to say first off, I appreciate the review!

Very nice screenshots, a good overview of the second beta release. Players unfamiliar with the map will get a good feel for the many hidden treasures placed throughout the map.

With Urban Terror moving to the Enemy Territory engine, I see even better things for superman in the future. The ET engine is supposed to have more capabilities than the Q3 engine, and considering the size of superman, I'll for one welcome the change.

Depending on when the new port of UrT is released, I'll work on another beta release revolving around the change. Perhaps I'll have b3 out before, then a b4 out after, we'll see what happens.

ut_superman is a highly ambitious map, hopefully able to envelop the interest of players looking into MASSIVE action, up to 64 players. Can't imagine such a thing? Impossible? Heh just remember we'll never need more than 640k of memory. -bill gates

Here's an interview for pre-beta 3, link is to the urban terror forums, which contains the link for the interview and feedback. A very good read if you're interested in the progress of superman.
